Swiss watch manufacturer Girard-Perregaux has recently added two new feminine models to its collection: the Cat’s Eye La Fenice (ref. 80494B53P7B1-CK4A) and the Cat’s Eye Sparkle (ref. 80489D53A1B5-CK4A). Combining exceptional watchmaking and high fashion jewellery, these new watches will appeal to all women who appreciate fine craftsmanship.

Decorated with more than 200 emerald-cut diamonds, the Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye La Fenice (ref. 80494B53P7B1-CK4A) represents a tribute to Teatro La Fenice (the phoenix) – one of the world’s, and certainly Venice’s, most iconic opera houses. The dial of the watch resembles the theater’s front curtain. Composed of 83 emerald-cut and 10 brilliant-cut diamonds, the curtain was made using the “Clou de Paris” technique. The stones are first fixed around a rod (the “Clou”) which is then cut and filed to bring it smoothly level with the diamonds. This type of decoration creates a mirror-type effect that highlights the sparkling gems. The diamond-set curtain is held by a hand-polished white gold ribbon bow suspended above a cut-out mother-of-pearl marquetry inlay. The mother-of-pearl segment can be custom painted if customer desires.

Housed in a 32.90mm x 38.40mm white gold case, the timepiece is water resistant to 30 meters. The case is set with 168 emerald-cut diamonds and features a solid caseback that can be custom engraved. Powering the watch is the caliber GP03300-0127, a mechanical movement with 27 jewels. Composed of 1999 components, this self-winding movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of approximately 46 hours. The new Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye La Fenice comes on a stylish alligator leather strap with white gold folding clasp set with 14 emerald-cut diamonds. The strap can be customized to exactly match the shade of the mother-of-pearl inlay.

The second new model is the Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Sparkle (ref. 80489D53A1B5-CK4A). The watch has an oval-shaped 35.40mm x 30.40mm white gold case. Adorned with 62 brilliant-cut diamonds, the 30-meter water resistant case features a transparent sapphire crystal caseback revealing some of the movement’s architecture. The dial consists of two parts. Made in mother-of-pearl, the outer ring is set with 12 mother-of-pearl hour-markers. Hand-painted in a delicate shade of blue, the mother-of-pearl cabochons are reminiscent of a frozen lake. The center of the dial is decorated with 217 brilliant cut diamonds. Varying in size, these sparkling stones entirely cover the white gold surface. Each dial calls for a highly skilled artisan and requires more than 25 hours of work.

Inside the watch is the self-winding caliber GP03300-0101 with 27 jewels. Designed and developed in-house by Girard-Perregaux, it features Côtes de Genève decoration, blued steel screws, circular graining on the mainplate, and an oscillating rotor decorated with the “GP” tapisserie pattern. The movement itself beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and guarantees a power reserve of minimum 46 hours. Completing the Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Sparkle we have an elegant night blue alligator leather strap secured with a double white gold folding clasp set with 14 brilliant-cut diamonds.
