In the last couple of years, the Swiss independent manufacturer H. Moser & Cie. has been all about simplicity. The brand’s watches feature minimalist design with only the essentials. Ultimate expressions of minimalism and purity, they are the perfect examples that pure luxury doesn’t require any needless decoration. Today H. Moser & Cie. continues this trend as it presents another minimalistic watch – the new Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Steel. Priced at $39,900, the new H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Steel can be bought at the authorized retailers.

The perpetual calendar is one of the brand’s signature complications. Unlike so many other similar timepieces with busy, often confusing, dials, the watches from H. Moser & Cie. are incredibly simple in design and easy to read. The new steel Pioneer Perpetual Calendar is the second perpetual calendar model the brand’s Pioneer collection. Last year we saw the same-named model but in rose gold. Before these two versions, the perpetual models were only offered within the Endeavour collection. Launched in 2015, the Pioneer series is a bold and modern collection that incorporates a pioneering and adventurous spirit. Featuring a strong design evocative of the industrial world, the watches from this collection are both elegant and user-friendly – great for everyday use :) .

Combining style with practicality, the watch is designed for everyday wear

What “separates” the latest H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Steel from other similar watches is its great practicality. A remarkably wearable perpetual calendar, the new H. Moser & Cie. timepiece is created to gracefully display the time in any conditions – whether it is on land or on the sea. Unlike most other perpetual calendar models, it is water resistant to 120 meters. This, together with the highly durable stainless steel case, makes the new H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Steel highly practical. This is very important as perpetual calendar is one of the most useful watchmaking complications.

The leap year indicator is placed on the movement side

The new H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Steel is housed inside a 42.8 mm stainless steel case. The case is 11.3 mm thick and features a screw-in crown decorated with an “M”. On the back of the watch we have a transparent sapphire caseback that reveals the brand’s in-house made caliber HMC 800. The back of the watch also features a leap year indicator. Beneath the front sapphire crystal is a beautiful midnight-blue fumé dial adorned with sunburst pattern. The dial displays hours, minutes, small seconds at 6, date at 3 o’clock and power reserve at 9 o’clock. Completing the dial is a small central hand indicating the month.

Inside the H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Perpetual Calendar Steel is the caliber HMC 800 with 32 jewels. This manual-wound movement works at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of no less than 7 days. The new watch is available with a stylish black alligator leather strap. The elegant strap is secured with a steel pin buckle engraved with the H. Moser & Cie. logo.
