To celebrate the opening of their first boutique store in China, the folks at Harry Winston have made five new timepieces all of limited edition. The Shanghai store will definitely be crowded these days!
So in a way we actually have five new collections so to speak. The first one I’ll show you is a timepiece of the Premier Feather collection. Apart from the golden case adorned with a diamond bezel and lugs, this timepiece’s dial actually took about seven hours to assemble. And why? Well because it is really a Feather watch – the 36 mm dial is composed of carefully selected and manually set black and red feathers. Nelly Saunier is the name behind the design and she definitely earned her name to be mentioned a lot these days. Luckily for her, the collection is limited to eight pieces.
For the male part of the watch enthusiast world, Harry Winston has prepared two limited edition watches, again limited to eight pieces. This is the Midnight Tourbillon collection. One of them, shown in the picture above, is a tourbillon plus GMT, a highly functional watch, easy to operate, interestingly designed and fabulous looking on the wrist. The other timepiece is a tourbillon of a more classy design, with effective red details which stand in contrast to the black surface of the dial. The tourbillons are beautifully embellished with red rubies in both timepieces.
Now that he gentlemen are satisfied, Harry Winston turns to the ladies once again with the Midnight collection. Here the emphasis is on the design of the dials. The design of the dials is in recognizable Chinese motifs, inspired by the Shanghai residential structure called Shikumen. For ladies who love diamonds these watches will be a real treat. The one presented in the next picture is a 18k rose gold case, conservatively sized with its 32 mm in diameter. The strap is white satin. The dial is decorated with diamonds and Arabesque motifs.
The other timepiece is a bit bigger – 39 mm in diameter of the dial. This time it is 18k white gold for the case and black alligator leather for the strap. The dial is of unusual and eye-catching color – green with neatly done Shikumen motifs, embellished with diamonds once again. The dial surface is in green jade and onyx this time. The Midnight collection is also limited to eight pieces of each watch. So ladies, if you are looking for a luxury watch to pamper yourselves with, Shanghai is the place to be at!
