Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Porto Montenegro 1Hublot has just announced it has become the Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of Porto Montenegro Marina and Yacht Club. Porto Montenegro was established in 2009 by a group of businessmen including LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault, Jacob Rothschild and Canadian investor and philanthropist Peter Munk. Located in the deep-water Bay of Kotor, it has quickly become one of the most attractive nautical centers in Europe, attracting numerous celebrities and VIP’s. In addition to a fully-integrated marina with more than 450 berths, Porto Montenegro also has 290 luxury waterfront residences, a five-star hotel, yacht club as well as over 50 retail units. To celebrate its latest partnership, Hublot has unveiled a special dedicated piece – the Classic Fusion Chronograph Porto Montenegro (ref. 521.NX.7170.VR.POM18). Limited to only 30 pieces, the watch is now available at Excelsior, Hublot exclusive retailer in Porto Montenegro as well as all across Central Europe. The price has not been announced.

The new Classic Fusion Chronograph Porto Montenegro was officially introduced at a special promotional event at the marina’s yacht club. Surrounded by the blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, Hublot’s CEO Ricardo Guadalupe and the Managing Director of Porto Montenegro David Margason launched a strategic partnership that unites the watchmaking and timekeeping expertise of Hublot with marina’s exclusive lifestyle community. Over the past few years, the Swiss watchmaker has made a significant number of moves along the Mediterranean coastline. Since 2007, the brand has opened new directly operated boutiques in Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Monaco, Capri and Porto Cervo. By opening nautically themed boutiques in these historical harbors, Hublot demonstrates its capacity to constantly renew itself while respecting its own proud history and tradition.

The watch’s blue theme is a nod to summer and the blue of the sky and the sea

Now back to the watch, shall we? The new Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Porto Montenegro limited edition is housed in a large 45mm polished and satin-finished titanium case. This special edition is water resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM) and features a transparent sapphire case back. The case back ring is engraved with limited edition number while the glass itself is stamped with the Porto Montenegro logo. On the front, we have a beautiful blue sunray satin-finished dial – a nod to summer and the blue of the sky and the sea. Featuring polished rhodium-plated appliques and hands, the dial displays hours, minutes, small seconds, 30-minute chronograph counter at 9 o’clock and date at 6 o’clock. Positioned at 3 o’clock, the small seconds counter is decorated with the Porto Montenegro logo. Both counters feature a snailed decoration.

Powering the new Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Porto Montenegro limited edition is the caliber HUB1143 with 59 jewels. Comprised of 280 components, this self-winding chronograph movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. Completing the latest Hublot timepiece is a stylish blue rubber and blue calf strap that perfectly complements the dial. Decorated with yellow stitching, the strap is secured with a stainless steel deployant buckle clasp.
