Inspired by the rounded architecture of Rennes Opera House, the timepieces from Mido’s Baroncelli range are evocative of the building’s timeless elegance. As a continuation of celebrating its 100th anniversary, the watchmaker is proud to introduce three new models to this collection: the Baroncelli 1918, the Baroncelli 2018, and the Baroncelli 2118. Limited to 1918, 2018, and 2118 pieces respectively, these special editions revolve around the theme of “past, present and future”, representing different periods of the brand’s history as well as its decisively forward-looking attitude. Each watch embodies the values that have formed Mido’s DNA for a century: quality materials, timeless design and technical innovation.

And finally we have the model that “looks” 100 years in the future – the Baroncelli 2118 (ref. M8608.3.18.9). Bold and daring, this all-black watch demonstrates a sleek sophistication. The timepiece itself is housed in an attractive polished stainless steel case with black PVD treatment. Underneath the front sapphire crystal lies a anthracite dial decorated with a sunray satin-finish. Starting from the small seconds, this decoration captures and diffuses the light to create mesmerizing mirror effects. Priced at $1,260, the Mido Baroncelli 2118 is presented on a black Cordura® fabric strap. The latter is designed to endure the test of time and to ensure the timepiece stays timeless over generations.

All three editions feature a 38mm case. The three-piece cases are water resistant to 50 meters and feature sapphire display case backs. On the back of each case there is an engraved serial number. The dials all feature the same layout: hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 and date at 3 o’clock. The small seconds complication is one of Mido’s signature features, having appeared in the brand’s collections since 1934. Completing each dial is the “100th anniversary limited edition” inscription at 9 o’clock.

The latest Mido watches will be officially launched later this month. Each timepiece will come in a special presentation box with a numbered certificate.
