Steinhart Ocean Titanium 500 Premium

It’s a new tough diver’s watch from Steinhart, and its name is Ocean Titanium 500 Premium. Two important things are implied in the name of this timepiece; first, the watch is equipped with a titanium case, which not only made it robust, it also made this watch quite light. Another important piece of information implied in the name of this Ocean is the water resistance. This timepiece is water resistant to 500 meters, which sounds fantastic. In other words, it can withstand pressures of up to 50 ATM, which will certainly be enough even for more demanding users.

First things first – the case. The case of the Ocean Titanium 500 Premium measures 42 mm in diameter (or 1.65 inches, depending on which part of the planet you’re from), while the thickness is 13 mm. On the front side, we have a unidirectional rotating diving bezel with a black ceramic inlay, which has a nice glossy finish. This inlay features engraved markings with Superluminova Bgw9. Another important thing on the front side of the case is sapphire crystal. It’s a domed sapphire crystal, and it features double anti-reflecting coatings on its inner side, for optimal visibility. On the right side of the case, we notice a matching screw-down crown, decorated with the Steinhart logo. Next, we have a transparent case-back, which means we get to see the movement and its details, including the golden Steinhart rotor, something we’ve seen quite often on their watches. Of course, one of the most impressive things about this Ocean is its water resistance of 500 meters (50 ATM), which divers will definitely appreciate.

Contrasting the steel case, we have a black dial with some light blue accents. The latter also includes the central second hand, while the hour and minute hand are white. The same goes for indices, and just like the hands, they are completed with Superluminova Bgw9, which glows blue. Last, but not least, there’s a date window, which you’ll easily notice at 6 o’clock position on the dial.

The movement itself and its decoration can be seen through the glass case-back, including the blue screws and, of course, the golden Steinhart logo.

Completing the watch, we have a sporty bracelet which, just like the case, is made of titanium. Making sure this bracelet stays firmly on the wrist, we have a safety clasp, also made of titanium. As for the financial aspect, the new Ocean Titanium 500 Premium is priced at €590. However, the titanium bracelet is not the only option. For this model, Steinhart also offers a rubber strap, as well as a synthetic strap, for those who want something rugged and durable. And for those who want to add some style to their Ocean, there’s a stylish leather strap, for that touch of elegance.
