The world of oversized watches by TW Steel

For those of you who prefer timepieces a bit on the large side, TW Steel has got you covered. The Dutch company, founded in 2005, is known for their wide selection of large oversized watches and chronographs. Additionally, the company offers special edition watches endorsed by the brand’s ambassadors such as racing driver Dario Franchitti, singer Kelly Rowland and Formula One driver David Coulthard, just to name some.

Let’s start off with the stylish Kelly Rowland Special Edition timepiece. Unusual for a ladies’ watch, the case diameter is 44 mm, which leaves a strong impression. The case itself is made of AA-grade sandblasted PVD rose gold plated steel, completed with 56 set zirconia baguettes, available in pink or blue. The colors of the Italian leather straps match those of the gems, so the watch features two distinct variations. The colors of the dials also differ: pink version has pink Mother of Pearl dial, while the blue one got a Sunray blue dial. Both are protected by a sturdy sapphire crystal, making sure no scratches do any harm to this watch.

Beauty in pink

Function-wise, this timepiece packs a lot. It utilizes a 0S25 chronograph movement from Miyota. The chronograph feature is easily noticeable on the dial, with its dedicated counters. Finally there’s the tachymeter scale, adding some sporting feel to the watch. The back of the case features the signature of Kelly Rowland, making this timepiece even more unique. Aside from the good looks, this watch has a better-than-average water resistance; 10 ATM makes this beauty tough and ready for everyday wear and tear challenges.

Red details for a sporty feel

Next, for gentlemen: how about some black coated steel? This model (ref. CE4009) features a massive 48 mm A-grade sandblasted PVD black coated steel case, completed with an attractive black Italian leather strap. If the size is a bit “too much” for you, don’t worry; this watch also comes in a 44 mm version. The dominant black is nicely complemented with red details, namely on the dial and the stitching on the strap. Additional details include PVD dark titanium coated shiny screws on the bezel, pushbuttons and crown. Same as the Kelly Rowland timepiece, this one uses a high-precision 0S25 chronograph movement from Miyota. The water resistance is also the same – 10 ATM. Overall, the watch gives a solid impression, and makes a good choice for a man who wants a durable watch not lacking in style.

The biggest of 'em all

Now, this is something: the 50 mm case watch (ref. TWA203). Again, PVD black coated steel was used as the case material, but this time completed with a Camel leather strap, which nicely contrasts it. Unlike the previous two models, this one has a simpler automatic movement 8215 from Miyota. One will notice a cleaner layout on the dial, with no counters or sub-dials. The total power reserve of the movement is 40 hours, and the water resistance is 10 ATM. A 45 mm version is also available.

These oversized watches certainly make quite a statement when it comes to their looks. They may not be to everyone’s liking, but those who prefer them may find them just “perfect”. Bigger is better – while this may not necessarily always hold true, these watches could make you rethink that.
