Diamonds! Everything looks better with them, doesn’t it? Well, maybe not everything, but this Sirius from Chronoswiss certainly benefits from all the gems. They’re even mentioned in the watch’s name – Sirius Moon Phase Diamonds – so you know what to expect. Chronoswiss themselves actually describe it as one of their most glamorous watches. The name also implies that we have a moon phase indicator, which you’ll notice at 6 o’clock position on the dial. However, the diamonds are definitely what’s far more interesting on this watch. The case is fully paved with 220 diamonds, and we have additional 72 of these gemstones on the bezel.
The case itself is made of 18-karat red gold, and it measures 40 mm in diameter, while the thickness is 10.35 mm. But this is just one of the options – the Sirius Moon Phase Diamonds also comes in two other versions, with a stainless steel case, and another also with an 18-karat gold case. However, the biggest difference is the cases of these two models are not paved with diamonds, only the bezels. They also have some things in common, like the screw-down case-back with sapphire crystal, revealing the movement and its details. These timepieces are water resistant to 3 ATM, which sounds pretty reasonable.
When it comes to the dial, all three models of the Sirius Moon Phase Diamonds have dials made of Mother of Pearl, which goes great with the overall style of this watch. And of course, one of the first things you’re going to notice is the moon phase indicator at 6 o’clock. This part of the dial actually features one more indicator – a pointer-type date indicator. Next, we have a trio of hands in the middle of the dial, two of which (hours, minutes) are leaf-shaped. Together with indexes, they are color matched to the case for each model. Interestingly, no diamonds on the dial, but that’s certainly not a bad thing!
The movement is another thing these three models have in common. We’re talking about the caliber C. 932, an automatic movement with 25 jewels. It beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and it has a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. When it comes to the functions, one of the most prominent is certainly the moon phase indicator. You’ll easily notice it at 6 o’clock, together with a date indicator. Other than that, we also have the standard hours, minutes, and seconds, all displayed centrally.
Last, but not least – the strap. This member of the Sirius family is completed with a stylish alligator leather strap, in one of the three colors, depending on the exact model. Aside from the color, each strap has a distinctive texture, which altogether works very well with the rest of the watch, design-wise. The straps themselves are completed with either a pin buckle or a folding clasp, depending on the particular model of the Sirius Moon Phase Diamonds.
