Ulysse Nardin is a brand with rich history with the sea. In the second part of the 19th century, the watchmaker was known as one Switzerland’s finest marine chronometer manufacturers; a marine chronometer is a highly accurate and precise timepiece that is used as a portable time standard and to determine longitude by means of celestial navigation. During that period, Ulysse Nardin supplied many of the world’s navies. The company was especially renowned for incorporating modern production methods and using fully interchangeable components. Since 1846, when naval commanders from all over the world came seeking for Ulysse Nardin’s marine and pocket chronometers, the brand has been building on its founder’s winning approach of timekeeping innovation and precision. For more than 170 years, Ulysse Nardin is producing highly innovative watches that inspire both collectors who admire their timeless beauty and unparallel performance, and the watchmakers at the Swiss manufacture.

The case also features a black unidirectional rotating bezel with aluminum inserts and glossy finish. Beneath the AR-coated sapphire crystal is a highly legible matte black dial with big Super Luminova indexes and hands. The dial displays hours, minutes and small seconds at 6 o’clock (vs the central seconds on the original model). At 3 o’clock we have a date window with magnifying glass.
