Important Watches by Christie’s

On 13th of June 2012 in New York, Rockefeller Plaza  another auction by Christie’s will be held. This auction is especially interesting because of a high variety of different watchmakers being featured. Christie’s is worlds most famous auction house among other things famous for auctioning of a Bugatti Royale for 5.5 million pounds and hundreds of Eric Clapton’s guitars. This June main event will be “Important watches”. Timepieces from private collectors will be sold next week which is a once in a life time opportunity to see and maybe even buy worlds famous vintage models by Patek Philippe, Vianney Halter, Harry Winston, Pavel Buhre, Vacheron Constantin and many others. The most interesting timepiece will definitely be the Patek Philippe’s original World Time wristwatch. Maybe the most famous of Patek Philippe’s models, this chronometer was manufactured in 1963 and still considered one of the best watches ever. Assembled in an 18k gold case with 18 jewels, signed Patek Philippe this vintage model is quite rare and drool-inspiring. We will have to wait until 13th of June to see who becomes the very lucky new owner of this very special wristwatch. This original timepiece is ancestor of all world time models that appeared to this day and it’s estimated price is between seven hundred thousand and one million and two hundred thousand dollars.

 Another one of many watches to be sold is a unique Vacheron Constantine timepiece. This watch is one of the collection of four watches made in 1953 and it is one of the rarest and nearly forgotten models. Made in small series of four watches all with small differences so they could be set apart from each other,  this watch is one of the finest models in the upcoming auction. On the dial of this timepiece there is a rooster painted in a cloissoné enamel technique, and around it are distributed square and triangular numbers. With it’s leather strap and unique design owner of this watch will be sure to have one of a kind masterpiece.

And the last of the many watches at the Christie’s I present to you today the Breguet ref.3136. With case made in 18k gold, containing 30 jewels, a  24 hour dial and an authentic leather strap this beautiful timepiece is surely worth of attention. Made by the French master watchmaker, this model shines with famous French style and luxury. Breguet’s model contains vintage look imprisoned in modern design making it look timeless. Roman numerals add even more to it’s natural charm and beauty and hard to resist for all Breguet fans (with deep pockets).

Beside these Patek Philippe’s, Vacheron Constantin’s and Breguet’s models Christie’s will offer many other rare, vintage and luxurious models by Girard-Perregaux, Breguet, Audemars Piguet, Blancpain, Daniel Roth, Vianney Halter and many more that were properties of private collectors so if are someone of sufficient means and happen to be in the market for such a timepiece this selection will not dissapoint.
