The historic American watch brand BALL is proud to presnt a new exciting timepiece – the Engineer III King. Available in two dial sizes, the new BALL watch will be offered in limited numbers, though the company has not yet specified how many. The Swiss-based based is offering customers an opportunity to pre-order their latest watch at a special discount price of 1,150 Swiss francs. This is, however, a time-limited offer and will end on April 12, 2017. The pre-ordered watches will ship between July 2017 and August 2017. As of September 2017, the BALL Engineer III King will be officially available at a full retail price of CHF 1,950.
With the new Engineer III King, BALL is introducing a new innovative winding crown called DuraLOCK. Developed in-house by BALL , this feature has a patented sealing system that ensures high-grade security. This is highly important as the crown is the most vulnerable part of every timepiece. When using it to set the time, the case is exposed to water, dust and other elements that can cause long lasting damage to the watch. The BALL Engineer III King is also equipped with the brand’s patented Amortiser anti-shock system. Using a protective, anti-magnetic ring placed around the caliber, this technology eliminates external shock impact. In addition to being shock resistant (up to 5,000 G’s), the watch is also Anti-magnetic up to 80,000A/m.
Designed for adventure, the BALL Engineer III King comes in 2 dial sizes: 40mm and 43mm. Available in stainless steel and Titanium carbide, the watch is water resistant to 100 meters. The back of the watch features a solid stainless steel caseback. If desired, the caseback can be personalized with customized engraving. The laser engraving limited to one line and up to 12 characters, including spaces.
The new BALL Engineer III King is also available in two dial colors: black and blue. The dials are highly readable even in the darkest conditions thanks to the brand’s patented micro gas light tubes. A revolutionary feature in watchmaking, these self-powered tubes last for 25 years and do not require recharging from the sun nor do they drain battery life. The 1mm thick micro gas tubes are used to illuminate hour markers, including the multi-tube 6 and 12 o’clock numerals. The very thin 0.3mm x 2mm gas tubes are used to light up every minute. Besides hours, minutes and seconds, the Engineer III King also displays day and date. These functions are displayed in a double window at 3 o’clock.
Inside the new BALL Engineer III King is the Calibre RR1102. Based on the ETA’s 2836-2, this self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and enables a power reserve of more than 38 hours. The latest BALL watch comes with several strap options. The timepiece is available with a stainless steel bracelet and black calf leather strap. The customers can also opt for an additional green NATO strap.
