From HYT, a highly innovative Swiss watch company, comes a new exceptional collection – the HYT Ho. There are three new watches: The Ho Black, the Ho Silver, and the Ho Orange. All models are priced at $39,000.
According to the HYT, the design of the new watches is inspired by a pebble, “worn smooth by water from a mountain stream”. And while this description may seem a bit over the top, it actually makes sense when you look at the timepiece. First, the front sapphire crystal has a highly curved design. Featuring AR coating on the dial side, the crystal curves almost all the way to the bottom of the case. This allows the user to admire the dial from all angles. Second, the dial also features a highly curved look, letting the user to read time from the side as well. And here’s where the pebble analogy kicks in . With their smooth rounded lines, the new HYT Ho watches do really resemble pebbles.
For its new Ho line, HYT has decided to refresh its characteristic openwork design. Unlike their previous models, the new HYT Ho watches have only a small segment revealing the “insides”. Guided by the “less is more” idea, the brand has designed solid dials with drop-shape openings that reveal just a fraction of the bellows. This minimalist approach shifts the attention to the artistic, spectacular dimensions of the fluid display. According to the Swiss brand, this kind of design – a big part of the caliber hidden beneath a curved dial – suggests the concentric waves formed by drops of water repeatedly falling into the basin of a water clock.
The new HYT Ho watches have large cases measuring 48.8mm wide and 17.9mm thick. They are water resistant to 30 meters and feature a screw-down titanium crown. The Ho Black features a black DLC titanium case while the Ho Silver and Ho Orange have “regular” titanium cases. The Ho Black and Ho Silver have green and blue, respectively, as the colors for the fluids and accents. The Ho Orange features orange accents and black liquid. The hours are indicated via the liquid inside a medical grade glass tube that circles the dial. The more traditional counters for minutes and small seconds are placed at 12 and 9 o’clock respectively. The 2 o’clock cutaway also serves as a power reserve indicator. At 6 o’clock we have 2 multi-layer metal reservoirs or bellows.
Powering the new HYT Ho watches is an exclusive manual winding HYT Calibre with 35 jewels. Visible through the transparent caseback, this mechanical movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and enables a substantial power reserve of approximately 65 hours. The movement itself features exceptional finishes including the hand-bevelled bridges decorated with Côtes de Genève. Completing these watches we have a stylish black supple rubber strap. The strap on the Ho Black is secured with a black DLC titanium deployant buckle, while the Ho Silver and Ho Orange have titanium deployant buckles.
