Coming from the workshops of the Swiss watchmaker Omega is the latest James Bond inspired watch – the Seamaster Diver 300M “Commander’s Watch” Limited Edition. The watch itself is not created for a specific movie, but rather pays tribute to the cult of Bond and celebrates several movie anniversaries at once. Specifically, it pays homage to the 007’s rank as Commander and commemorates three movies anniversaries: “You Only Live Twice” (1967), “The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977), and “Tomorrow Never Dies” (1997). In each of these films, James Bond (played by Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan respectively) wore his official military uniform.

The design of the watch pays homage to the red, white and blue colors of the Royal Navy

To mark the release of its latest timepiece, Omega organized a special promotional event at the London’s world-renowned Tate Britain art museum. The official host for the evening was Samantha Bond, the English actress best known for her role as Miss Moneypenny in the four Pierce Brosnan James Bond movies. The new watch was officially revealed by Omega’s President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann and Bond film Producer Michael G. Wilson. Omega’s CEO also talked about the timepiece and the Bond’s connection with the Royal Navy, an organization with which the Swiss brand has historical ties.

The new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M “Commander’s Watch” Limited Edition takes inspiration from the red, white and blue colors of the Royal Navy as well as the Commander’s insignia itself. The watch’s 41 mm stainless steel case is water resistant to 300 meters and features a blue ceramic bezel with a Liquidmetal diving scale and red rubber for the first quarter of an hour. On the back, we have transparent sapphire caseback revealing the Omega’s Calibre 2507. Featuring a central 9mm “bullet” design, the movement’s rotor is decorated with the Royal Navy’s Commander rank insignia. Beneath the front sapphire crystal is a highly legible white ceramic dial with blue indexes and blue skeleton hour and minutes hands. The seconds are indicated by a central red hand decorated with the iconic 007 gun logo counterweight. Completing the dial we have the date window positioned at 3 o’clock. The number 7 is colored in red while the rest are blue.

Powering the Seamaster Diver 300M “Commander’s Watch” Limited Edition is the Calibre 2507. The latest Omega watch is available with a 5-stripe blue, red & grey NATO strap. Limited to 7,007 pieces, the timepiece comes in a special presentation box inspired by a real medal case. The box features a stainless steel bracelet, a changing tool and a “naval pin” matching the design of the NATO strap.
